At times I felt utterly lost but still went with the flow because I liked the atmosphere, chilling and dreadful but exactly the techno-future of Blade Runner and likes that fascinate me. Holding the now-useless shotgun under his jacket brought him comfort. He carries other people's memories, millions of them, downloaded into his brain. But after a while I couldn't follow it, maybe if it was a full novel with room to describe things more I'd have liked it more. The 1995 cyberpunk almost-classic captures a pre- Matrix, pre- Cyberpunk 2077 Reeves at his most cartoonishly buttoned-up, all hunk and monosyllabic monomindedness. Jane is going to help him.

As a result of technology, "female" takes on "masculine" characteristics of physical strength and resourcefulness. However, as the three of them are leaving the bar, a Yakuza assassin kills Ralfi, and Johnny and Molly barely get away themselves, with Johnny failing to kill the assassin with his shotgun.
A data courier, literally carrying a data package inside his head, must deliver it before he dies from the burden or is killed by the Yakuza. I must have read more times this story. . . The rest of it adds more color to the world. He could feel the metal and the foam-padded tape but couldn't wrap around the stubby grip, despite putting all his strength to move his index.
